I used to hear about all these amazing stories about how stay-at-home moms are making a full-time income made from home. Enough to be able to support their families. I honestly thought it was impossible to earn money from home. My first thought was that these people probably have done it for over a decade to get even decent pay. I told my husband I wanted to be a stay-at-home mom and work from our home. He laughed and said, “I wish it was that simple.” Well, here I am one year later.
Guess what happened in that one year?
I started a blog and learned all I had to be successful, now a year later I am making over $10,000 a month after expenses.
Who would have thought that this small town mom could make a living from the comfort of her own home while taking care of a 1-year-old and 3-year-old? It was not easy in the beginning. I had a lot of doubts about myself.
I faked it until I made it.
There is a limitless amount of jobs out there that are legitimate and work from home. You might be wanting a career change, saving for a vacation, or building your emergency fund. Whatever the reason maybe there are legitimate ways to earn money from home.
I will be upfront with you and tell you that working from home is not as easy as others like to say it is. If you want to work from home you will need motivation, organization, and focus to succeed.
Not only will you need motivation and organization, but you will also need to find out how you want to go about the business. Find your weaknesses and strengths, your likes and dislikes, and how much time and money you want to invest.
Once you have all the facts and information then you are better equipped to make smart decisions about your business. Once you have it all down on the table ask yourself, are you willing to do whatever it takes to make it work? This means working late into the night, waking up before the sun, taking educational classes and seminars to better educate yourself, and so on.
1. START A BLOG
As many will know blogging is not easy money. It will take a lot of dedication and work to see the fruit of your labor. With blogging, I am helping my audience learn and grow with everyday financial solutions. While I help others grow I am growing and learning as well.
2. PHOTOGRAPHY
This is a great way to make money if you are a photographer and have a good camera. You can see if anyone around you needs their family portraits taken. Another way is to sell your photos online. There is a website called FOAP, that lets you sell your stock photos. You get paid each time someone buys your pictures. A great source of income for bloggers who do not use all their pictures. Another great source to sell your stock photos to is shutterstock.com.

7. FLIP OLD FURNITURE
If you are really good with your hands and love to work on projects then this is a great way to make a living. You can restore as many projects you want and sell them anywhere between $100 – $400 for regular size projects.
I have friends who make anywhere between $2000 – $3500 a month. That is a very decent monthly check. The supplies do not cost much because they go a long way.
8. SELL PRODUCTS FROM HOME
If you have a hobby making jewelry, clothes, or DIY crafts, and are good at it. Etsy business is a great platform to sell your handmade items. People make a great income selling things from their homes. If you are not much into crafts and making jewelry, then try Redbubble. This is a platform where you can sell your graphic designs, photography, and more. Your design can end up on shirts, mugs, stickers, and so many more.
9. HELP WITH HOUSECLEANING/ SEASONAL WORK
Want to be able to do work all year long and not have to drive all over the place. A great way to do this is to offer your services to your neighbors. You have to be clear about what you can do, the cost of those jobs and what times you can carry out them. This can be anything from, pulling weeds, making garden beds, raking leaves, clearing snow on driveways, or putting up decorations. Get the word out with a neighborhood newsletter or flyers for each door.
You can also do house cleaning to make a decent living. This is not working from home job but it is one you make your own schedule and rate per hour. Just be upfront with your client about your hours, days, and charge. You never know you can even start your own house cleaning business.
10. SITTING FOR A JOB
A great way to make extra money can try babysitting, house sitting, or dog sitting. Check out Craigslist, Facebook, and your local listing for sitting jobs. All parents love to be able to get away one night a week. They will feel better with an adult watching their kids or dogs. Maybe the elderly need their pets walked or grandchildren to watch. Either way, this can be a simple and fast way to earn money from home.
If you take the route of having more children to watch I would first get my certifications required by your state. 11. CREATE WEBSITES
If you are tech-savvy this can be a really good job for you. Help others create their website to fix any issues they may have. Most developers and web designers charge their own hourly rates. 13. CREATE RESUME
I feel like this could be a very profitable side job. Everyone needs help with a résumé. You could charge $10-$20 per resume. It might not seem a lot but it will add real fast. Plus, if you are good at resumes you could have it done in 30 minutes.
14. SELL YOUR STUFF ON EBAY
If you have collectibles, designer handbags, and other great items you can sell them on eBay. This is a great way to get money for the items you are not using anymore. It might be hard work in the beginning but it will pay off in the end. Ask friends and family if they don’t want their stuff anymore. You can see what they do not want and sell it for a profit. You can sell anything that is sellable.
In the beginning, I would focus on small and shippable items. Grow your audience and ratings. The more money you make the bigger the item you can ship. Always make sure you add the shipping cost or you will not be making much money in the end.

Many people even sell their driveway space.
As you finish your semester at school you can rent out your textbooks or even sell them. If you do not want to sell your book or wait till the semester is over, then rent your textbooks on the day you are not using them.
